The Great in Santa Croce

26th January 2024

Men and women that have changed the course of history.

Throughout its history, Santa Croce has combined the Franciscan religious identity with a secular identity based on the celebration of men and women who have distinguished themselves for their civil virtues or for their intellectual genius. The funerary monuments preserved here, such as those of Dante, Michelangelo, Machiavelli or Galileo are not empty simulacra, but remain as a source of inspiration for the community and for future generations.

How to participate

The visit is free and can be booked online on our website together with the entrance ticket, which is free for residents of the Municipality of Florence. Reservation is mandatory and will be available soon.
