"Dante, the Eternal Poet" extended for the Pope's visit

The exhibition in cappella Pazzi is extended until February 27th. Santa Croce welcomes bishops and mayors from towns along the Mediterranean.

The cultural project Dante, the Eternal Poet will be extended during the summit of the bishops and mayors from towns along the Mediterranean until Sunday the 27th of February, the day when Pope Francis will celebrate Mass and the Angelus in the Santa Croce Basilica, in the presence of the President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella.

The evocative project carried out by Felice Limosani in the Pazzi Chapel, which has reached over 130 thousand visitors since its inauguration last September, is extended to welcome the guests present in Florence.

The monumental complex will not be accessible from the 22nd of February to the 1st of March to allow for preparations inside the Basilica and the rest of the Complex in view of the celebrations of the 27th.

The Opera and the Franciscan Community of Santa Croce, the Municipality of Florence, the Fund for Religious Buildings of the Ministry of the Interior, together with the artist Felice Limosani, are pleased to be able to extend the vision of this work, thus prolonging the celebrations dedicated to the Supreme Poet.

We thank Fondazione CR Firenze for their contribution, the support of the Tuscany Region and the Chamber of Commerce of Florence and the collaboration of K-Array and Nana Bianca.
