Genius Loci. Discovering Santa Croce
Genius Loci. Discovering Santa Croce is back!
The festival, now in its eighth edition, will once again be weaving music, art and words together in one of Florence’s most iconic sites from 24 to 28 September.
The programme consists of three nights and one dawn, in the course of which artists, intellectuals, writers and musicians will be accompanying the audience in a novel and highly atmospheric experience, proposing new visions of the complexity of our present times.
New this year, and central to the festival’s overall vision, an interfaith experience will take visitors on a guided tour of the basilica and of Florence’s synagogue and mosque on Sunday 28 September.
The first guests on the bill include artist and Nobel Peace Prize candidate Michelangelo Pistoletto, talented musician Frida Bollani Magoni, iconic jazzman Enrico Rava and Fred Hersch, a pianist with 20 Grammy Award nominations to his name. The list also includes author and scriptwriter Carlo Lucarelli, popular singer-songwriter and Tenco Award finalist Emma Nolde and Ubu Award-winning theatre company Lombardi Tiezzi.
